Hello Everyone!
My Vision here is to create a place were knowledge can be shared by people how comes from different parts of the world, different environments, life-experiences and phases in life, but have some common ground.
I guess most people here have some ideas about what the most important things to carry with you in case of disaster of any kind that maybe forces you to leave your home, your car or wherever you are and go into the woods. And it varies from person to person. To give an clear example from my point of view: Here in Sweden our government have spent over 250 billions Swedish Krona on asylum seekers (for today and its ticking everyday). We have already started to see some serious damages, we have IS well established, crime increases, rape and other sexual-disgusting-organised things in group against everyone from 5 to 95 happens everyday, these receive contributions for everything like food, clothes, furniture, they live for "free" (taxpayers money) and many many other stuff. The point is not political, but it depletes on our economy and society and creates possible violet groups and in worst case scenario, civil war. Our prime minister was also the first to officially recognize Palestine as a state, that´s insane and create some political tension. And our deputy prime minister has officially criticized Israel, creates even more tension. And we are in constant threat buy Russia. Swedish generals are telling us to be prepared for war in a 2 years time. On top of this the world economy is not doing to good. Many good reasons to have a bug out bag! And a location if you live in a city, because staying in a city is not good in case of chaos. If you live in the woods, preparing to be self-sufficient and able to defend yourself, family and neighbors.
So the BOB, bug ut bag, is very individual. Depends on were you live; Country (for me Sweden), in a city or countryside, your bug out location or if you have one at all, the climate, your physical ability, survival skills and much more.
There can also be natural disasters in some areas around the world. But whatever you have to prepare for, there are people out there, like the Wranglestar family, how know a lot about what you really need to survive or even have a relatively pleasant time out in the woods.
The point is to have a place were people can share for example; to survive with only your BOB long-term, how to make the best (long- term) shelter or house, about hunting and good trapping methods, find a good places here you can stay for some time, defense against wolfs, bears and other predators, smart ways to minimize you BOB buy develop good skills and techniques, with your axe for example. Our whatever.
In Sweden it´s illegal to carry a gun (or knife) and own one if you do not have a license and not everyone was that. Crossbows are even illegal. You can own a Compound bow. This limit most people.
The topic of wilderness survival is growing all the time, for many reasons, not only preparations for chaos, but also a general lack of nature in our "civilized" society and people moving away from big cities and back to our actual roots. That´s my main reason. I've done a lot of research to try to find people who are not only experts in isolated areas but has a generally broad knowledge of living in harmony with nature. After a few years of searching, Wranglestar is in the absolute top of the list! Therefore I choose to try to assemble a thread here.
Best regards and hope you can put up with my bad spelling!
Dennis
